Chris Harman ’27 Peake Fellow

A native of Mountain Brook, Alabama, Chris Harmon brings to the Peake Fellowship a passion for strengthening nth-tier supplier collaboration and optimization that builds on his skills in lean manufacturing, project management, engineering development, and data analytics.

Prior to the Fellowship, Chris spent five years at Boeing working across manufacturing, engineering, and supplier operations on both commercial and defense aircraft programs. As a Supplier Liaison Engineer supporting the 787 program in Charleston, South Carolina, he worked with more than 200 suppliers to resolve manufacturing and quality issues affecting aircraft production. Chris helped lead a cross-functional engineering effort to develop a repair for a structural issue that had grounded five 787 aircraft. The solution avoided approximately $50 million in replacement costs and returned roughly $1.5 billion of aircraft to production.

Earlier in his Boeing career, Chris supported F/A-18, F-15, and F-22 programs in St. Louis, working directly with manufacturing teams and suppliers supporting both new production and the active fleet. Chris saw firsthand how much Boeing as an ecosystem lead depends on the health, capability, capacity, and collaboration of Boeing’s nth-tier suppliers. That perspective drew Chris to Peake’s support for the cybersecure growth, innovation, and resilience of business members across each community served and the overall national industrial base of the U.S. and its partners.

Before joining Boeing, Chris worked in data analytics at Guardian Pharmacy in Atlanta, where he helped reconcile $3.4 million in returns during COVID-19 and automated inventory tracking across 38 locations. As an Eagle Scout, he led 40 volunteers in building a 12-ton stone amphitheater. Chris has also served as a middle school basketball coach; a Rockmont camp counselor on the site of educational pioneer, Black Mountain College near Asheville, North Carolina; and a two-term Student Government Senator at the University of Georgia focused on student wellbeing and campus initiatives.

Chris earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Georgia where he received a UGA Classic Scholarship. He is currently an MBA candidate at Harvard Business School (Class of 2028).
